Limestone Veneer Cladding

Our ultra-thin limestone slabs utilize state-of-the-art nano-exfoliation technology to laminate natural limestone into one final product with only 1-2mm of thickness. Our ultra-thin stone weighs approximately 1.5 kg per square meter, which is one-fifth the weight of traditional stone. This ultra-thin stone allows for less weight burden on building structures and facilitates ease of construction. Ultra-thin stone is bendable, formable, and light-transmitting, and can accommodate virtually any complex application such as curved walls, irregularly shaped columns, or suspended ceilings, expanding the creative boundary for designers.

Furthermore, the ultra-thin limestone slabs possess the texture and colour of natural stone while remaining highly durable, operationally fire-resistant, waterproof, wear-resistant, and resistant to corrosion. This makes them ideal for a variety of indoor and outdoor environments. Their surfaces are specially treated to ensure good adhesion, and they can furthermore be installed with simplicity by merely hanging and pasting the stone, which significantly lessens construction time and costs.

1. Super Slim and Lightweight

Our cladding for limestone veneer is designed to be super slim, and is typically between 3mm to 5mm thick. This is possible due to the advanced methods used to cut and process the limestone that maintain the natural grain and texture of the stone while also dramatically reducing its weight. For example, it is not uncommon for a traditional 2cm thick limestone slab to weigh approximately 50 kg per square meter, while our 3mm veneer cladding weighs only 7.5 kg per square meter. The consideration of weight makes our limestone cladding a great option for high-rise buildings, where heavy traditional stone materials could cause issues with structure. The reduced weight also makes installation easy as a whole, as it allows for housings of veneer to be constructed or moved quite simply, resulting in faster completion of projects while also reducing labour costs overall.

If there is one thing limestone is famous for, it is its natural beauty and the fact that no two pieces are identical when it comes to textures, colours, and natural patterns. Our limestone veneer is available in many different finishes, allowing it to be used in many different architectural styles and design preferences. For example, a polished limestone finish offers a mirror-like shine that reflects light and adds an elegant feel to any environment. A honed finish is equally smashing, with a polished smooth surface providing more matte and subdued elegance for modern minimalist designs. A textured finish, such as brushed or flamed finishes along with many others provides great depth. This finish is great for the rustic or industrial client. The beauty is in the natural colours and finished texture that each piece of limestone has. No two pieces of stone would ever be the same when finished.

3. Durable and Low Maintenance

Our veneer cladding is also, despite its slim profile highly durable. As aforementioned, limestone is recognized for its natural hardness and density, and this natural density significantly reduces the effects of weather, UV degradation, and general abuse. For example, each of our limestone veneers will fade less when in sunlight compared to traditional 20cm slabs. Also, it can withstand the effects of freeze/thaw cycles without cracking. What this means is that our limestone veneer cladding will remain aesthetically appealing and structurally strong for more than 20 years, with proper installation, with little to no maintenance. In fact, most finishes can be cleaned with mild detergent and water.

4. Environmentally Friendly

To consider our limestone veneer cladding environmentally responsible for your clients, in times where sustainability is a significant consideration in today's world. Limestone is also a natural material and is widely abundant, which means there is not much material processing to develop versus synthetics. An ultra-slim veneer cladding also requires less material use and waste, possibly less than 85% less than traditional slabs for example if our veneer was 3mm versus 20cm in thickness and density. A limestone veneer used to develop housing, for example, allows for less material that would last, and even though it is a natural stone, one cannot rely on the fact and quality of the stone to last and neither can one afford to frequently replace building materials. Both of these options along with others, for example fish or a product with the same longevity, hold the key to sustainability.
